Don’t mess with a Chef, a queer Chef especially. Don’t mess with the daughter of immigrant parents. Dont mess with a Pinay. Even if you are Ivanka Trump.
We’re talking about Angela Dimayuga, a native of San Jose, California, a 2017 New York City Rising Rising Star Chef of Mission Chinese Restaurant.
She was approached by a freelance writer who wanted to interview her for IvankaTrump.com.
“I would love to conduct an interview (via telephone/email) with you spotlighting your work as a strong female entrepreneur,” the writer said.
Dimayuga’s response was classic, saying:
As a queer person of color and daughter of immigrant parents I am not interested in being profiled as an aspirational figure for those that support a brand and a President that slyly disparages female empowerment. Sharing my story with a brand and family that silences our same voices is futile.

Kudos from Politikal Pinoy. All we can say is, “You go, girl!”
